The Mission New York convention, coming to NYC from ReedPop this September, has updated their event plans with Trek guests and screenings of the new documentary features from Leonard Nimoy’s family.

Star Trek: Mission New York will provide fans an intimate look at Leonard Nimoy’s life with two special documentaries developed by his children and the only event on the planet that will showcase both projects. Adam Nimoy’s documentary about his iconic father – For The Love Of Spock – premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and has been met with critical success delving into the life of Star Trek’s Mr. Spock as well as that of Leonard Nimoy.

Julie Nimoy will join Adam onsite with husband, David Knight, to screen COPD: Highly Illogical – A Special Tribute To Leonard Nimoy. The film is both a tribute and an exploration of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the cause of Nimoy’s passing last year at age 83.

In addition to these feature presentations, ReedPop has already announced the participation of the following Trek cast alumni: William Shatner, Kate Mulgrew, Robert Beltran, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Terry Farrell, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Robert Duncan McNeill, Ethan Phillips, Robert Picardo, and Marina Sirtis.

“This is the type of start that fans can expect for Star Trek: Mission New York – premiere content and guests that really can’t be seen anywhere else. But it is just the tip of the iceberg,” said Lance Fensterman, Global Senior Vice President of ReedPOP. “We are lining up more guests and unique programming that will make this the ultimate standout event for any Star Trek fan this year.”

TrekCore is planning to be on site for this first ReedPOP Star Trek convention this fall – and we’re looking forward to see what else this new event team is planning to include.

If you hope to attend, tickets are available now at StarTrekMissions.com.
