  • Villy

Video not available in Europe… Thanks CBS…

  • Bifash

I have to say I am extremely heartened by what I’m seeing. The uniforms look to be an evolution of the ENT uniforms – I can’t tell if the collars are oversized and off-centre, which would be a nice touch, and somewhat retro.

    • Eric
      • mr joyce

looks like the ares class from axanar, i also see uss titan slightly

        • Zarm

Looks to me like the Akira class (again) with Jem’hadar nacelles welded on.

          • mr joyce

yeh, i can see that too

    • GIBBS v2

The renders of the Discovery seen in the video don’t appear to have changed much.

The engines have gone red and the saucer looks a tad smaller.

      • Bifash

I’m actually a fan of the Discovery design. I’m a strong believer that the context will have fans warm up to the ship hopefully.

        • GIBBS v2

I know the ship like any character will grow on the audience. Still feels clunky though. That ship in the above screen cap is more interesting to me personally. I am sure there will be an explanation that will make everyone go Ooooooooh thats why it looks that way…

          • Bifash

The ship in the cgi display definitetly looks “cooler” – but I think it should be more than about just looking cool. That’s why i’m hopeful there’ll be reason enough to justify why the Discovery looks as it does.

I was never personally a fan of the Enterprise-D design, nor Voyager, but learnt to live with it understanding the context of both shows.

          • I Am Jupiter

I too really like the McQuarry-inspired design, but as a fellow commenter pointed out, those weird triple bussard collectors don’t really make any sense in established Trek ‘science’… shouldn’t bother me, but Trek is usually so good at verisimilitude. That aside, great design.

          • Sastrei

Early tech manuals and drawings of the Enterprise-D always showed twin bussard collectors underneath the red exterior shell, so it’s not without precedent.

          • I Am Jupiter

Huh! Did not know that… thanks Sastrei – learn something new every day!

          • G1976

The Enterprise E had triple bussard collectors underneath its exterior covers.

          • Locutus

Yeah, I disliked Voyager as well, but grew accustomed to it. Still don’t really understand why its nacelles shift position when going to warp though, except it just looks “cooler” (to some).

Like Defiant–a “tough little ship” built to battle the Borg–I am sure they will justify the look of Discovery.

          • Eric Cheung

Well, the off-screen rule for Starfleet ships was always that the nacelles needed a majority line of sight between them, but this seems to have been bent since VOY, especially considering the ships that no longer have pairs of nacelles.

That they bend, instead of staying in a fixed position was probably a bit of cool factor, but it could also have to do with the idea that Voyager is designed for atmospheric travel as well. Maybe it’s more efficient in the atmosphere to have the ship with a flat plane for the wings. I’m not an aerospace engineer though.

      • The Science Fiction Oracle

Those changes make a difference though – it looks better

    • Paul

This caught my eye immediately. Obviously a nice melding of the the NX saucer design and the Centaur design aesthetic. The warp engines bear almost a Enterprise era Romulan design element. I wonder if this is the Shenzhou.

    • Eric Cheung

I actually kind of think this is a bit 24th century looking. The nacelles look like the Jem’Hadar fighters.

I have a feeling this might be the USS Shenzhou.

    • Brian Thorn

Elsewhere in the trailer you see a wall of USS Discovery artwork, and this isn’t her. This ship is almost certainly the USS Shenzhou.

      • Eric

But the wall of work looked like the original drawings taken from the 70’s plus the update that everyone hated – maybe you are right, but I am hoping for a solid looking vessel!

      • mr joyce

        that would be cool

    • Bifash

“Aye. And if my grandmother had wheels, she’d be a wagon!”

    • Martin Paternoster

Looks like an evolution from the NX class to me.

    • Tuskin38

it reminds me of John Eaves designs

IIRC he is working on the show, so it might be his!

    • Christopher Roberts

I’d be happier if the front end of the Nacelles were more reminiscent of TOS. Even the ships in the JJ Abrams films, for all their faults, managed that.

    • Locutus

It hard for me to tell from that cgi framing how it will appear in the end once textures are added. It looks a little “busy” for this timeframe, almost like a gunboat; but they are allowed some artistic liberties in my opinion. I don’t want them to just plop in 1964 models, although Star Trek Enterprise essentially did that in “In a Mirror, Darkly.” It does remind me a little of the NX-01 as others have stated.

    • Harry Kane

But yet again it looks too advanced like its from the 24th25th century

      • Eric

That is true, esp in the nacelles

        • Harry Kane

They say they want to get the look right and know that we will all moan if they get the balance wrong. The right balance can be achieved, and the chair and uniforms look like very late ENT which we never saw.

    • Michael

Scout ship U.S.S Shenzhou. Designed for pure speed. Lightly armed.

    • Zy Gon

      BS TOS ENT fanwank.

  • GIBBS v2

So who do the Alien Outfits and Helmet belong to?

The helmet looks like it might be klingon to me.

    • Bifash

Would definitely love to see Klingons wearing than just their usual TMP inspired armor, or DS9 era animal furs. I’d actually like to see something akin to the TOS uniforms, but obviously fleshed out for today’s audiences.

    • If the actor in the helmet is indeed Doug Jones, then he’s supposed to be playing a new alien. Although it could be some other ‘type’ of Klingon I guess. :/

  • CANADAMETALFAN

Can you post the video somewhere it won’t get removed? Keeps coming up not available for me.

    • Bifash

The Facebook link down in the comments’ section should be working? Can you see anything there?

  • SpaceCadet

Very exciting stuff! Looks like the Discovery design may be a little modified if at all from last year’s test footage. But the other computer modeling looks like a rendering of a completely different sleeker ship. And the uniforms look like a nice combo of the retro look with a modern flare, kind of like the uniforms in the Kelvin timeline. Cool looking alien costumes too. Can’t wait to see more!

  • Matineer

Looks like they’ve combined TNG universe designs with the reboot universe (the uniform). Nothing here says pre-TOS to me, unless it’s revised-past “Enterprise” type history. Stuff looks well done, though.

    • Eric Cheung

The uniforms and the bridge blueprint look pretty pilot-era TOS to me.

      • Matineer

I’m referring to what appears to be a point collar on the blue uniform. The arm circling gold also stands out as different. I would have expected ribbed collars for pre-TOS. But there’s not much to see from this angle. There is a very early pre production drawing of Spock which looks kind of similar in intent, though.

  • The Science Fiction Oracle

    Love it!!!

  • Fiery Little One

    It’s really happening, I’m happy.

  • The Science Fiction Oracle

The release of the first major teaser is obviously a huge milestone in the development of any TV series.

It goes without saying that anyone claiming to have a regular inside source would have at least told us in advance, “expect the teaser soon” or “they are working on the teaser this month.”

    • Michael

I was asked not to share this info by my source.

      • The Science Fiction Oracle
        • Michael

I never watch any of the links you post btw, I just assume they are negative and/or insulting.

          • The Science Fiction Oracle

1 out of 4 of them are true. The rest are fake video links that my source has asked me to post. My online video link source is very careful.

  • I’m fascinated with the new uniforms. Blue, strong gold piping over the shoulder, collar, is the darker part below the collar a shadow or a design element? If a design element, it appears to be asymmetric. Sort of a nod to TNG if true, perhaps.

    • Bifash

Someone was speculating that they may be Dress uniforms. I kind of hope they are the main crew uniforms – it’s be nice to see something really different ( even retro-1950s sci-fi perhaps? ) from what we’ve seen before.

      • redgrin__grumboldt

The shade of blue, to me, feels reminiscent of the ENT uniforms.

    • Martin Paternoster

The uniform sort of reminds me of the Kelvin uniform a little. Perhaps a half-way point between Kelvin and TOS? I wonder if they are going to implement TOS department colors?

  • And… the wire-frame render of a ship seems to also have some Klingon design queues with the down swept pylons. What’s going on? Is this just coincidence?

    • Eric Cheung

Now that you mention it, I was thinking the nacelles looked kind of Jem’Hadar, but they also look like the D5 nacelles. That said, I don’t think it’s a third timeline, nor do I think down-swept nacelles indicate Klingon design. I tend to think of the small head and the wide stance as being the Klingon trademark, birdlike, but more abstract than Romulans’ more literal birdlike ships (with the exception of the Bird of Prey which was originally a Romulan design, before Nimoy changed it to Klingon).

    • James

The wire frame model definitely has nacelles that don’t fit with TOS.

    • Zy Gon

BS TOS fanwank, a common theme.

  • Eric Cheung

The uniforms look like a cross between the uniform in TrekCore’s previous post, featuring the illusory officer from The Cage, and the landing party uniforms, also from The Cage. Given how many variants there seem to be from that episode, this uniform appears to fit within those parameters. I would have liked a patch instead of a pin, and would have LOVED a non-delta patch, but the uniforms actually look pretty cool.

There are some rather fearsome alien uniforms, filled with spikes. I wonder if those are Klingon uniforms, possibly ancient Klingon uniforms, from sleepers or the dead aboard the Klingon sarcophagus? I bet the set with the gigantic arches are from the sarcophagus as well. The leveled platforms look a bit like the drawings leaked months ago.

The person in the helmet might be Doug Jones, in some kind of motion capture gear.

I wonder what the spinning light on the strange wall is supposed to be.

The bridge blueprint shows a nearly circular bridge, which suggests something pretty close to the Constitution-class bridge. The chair is a finished version of the one Bryan Fuller tweeted months ago.

A control panel, being detailed by hand, has a TOS-movie font, as well as physical buttons reminiscent of the NX-01 controls.

The wireframe ship looks a bit like an NX-01, with downward-angled nacelles that look a bit Jem’Hadar. I bet that’s the USS Shenzhou.

    • Eric Cheung

The bridge blueprint has nine wedges. So, nine stations along the perimeter, helm, navigation, and the captain’s chair?

      • Zy Gon

        That’s not the bridge.

    • Eric Cheung

      Some more thoughts:

Do you think the spiky uniforms are for the proto-Klingons, as seen in TNG’s “Genesis?”

      That could explain the sarcophagus.

    • Eric Cheung

Regarding the uniform pin, not only is there the dividing line near the bend, there’s a protruding dot near the left bottom corner. Perhaps that’s a rank indicator? Some other kind of specialization indicator?

      • Michael

        Rank

    • Eric Cheung

The DP is Guillermo Navarro. Looking him up, he’s a frequent collaborator with Robert Rodriguez and Guillermo del Toro, and also worked on Hannibal. Fuller’s Hannibal had some of the most gorgeous photography I’ve seen on television.

      Sounds good to me!

  • Thomas Elkins

I’m excited for the show but I’m still not a fan of the Discovery’s design … or CBS All Access.

    • M33

      Or the name “Discovery”

    • Zy Gon

Torrent the first few 45 mins of BS, then switch off safe in the knowledge you’re not funding this travesty.

    • Adam

Netflix paid a huge amount of money (reportedly equivalent to the entire budget of Discovery) for the international rights (everywhere but the US and Canada, IIRC) to the show. If CBS All Access tanks, but the show does really well for Netflix, I could see them paying CBS for the US rights too. I don’t think that the show’s survival is tied to the success of CBS All Access.

  • pittrek

Looks pretty good. Could you do a “trailer breakdown”? I can’t access the youtube video, and the facebook player sucks.

EDIT – I wrote it before I read the text beneath the video. Looking forward for your screencaps!

  • GIBBS v2

That set with the black “ribs” rising high up to the ceiling is huge! There is some serious money being spent on those sets. Very excited to get some new trek.

    • That appears to be the Klingon ship set. In the video it seems to show its bridge having multiple levels.

    • Also, I was remembering those drawings that appeared on Mark Worthington’s website (until they got taken down) of some of his Pre-Production drawings. Alongside was a photo of another set that he had designed with multiple levels and high ceiling, so this seems to fit with that Klingon Sarcophagus ship in his drawings.

      • Eric Cheung

Exactly my thought. I think the alien uniforms are for the ancient Klingons that might have been kept there.

      • Locutus

Good call! I’d forgotten about those drawings.

      • Makes good sense. If the Klingons we encounter in Discovery are from this old (ancient?) sarcophagus ship, it allows for them to be ridge-headed Klingons and still fit into the events of Enterprise.

    • Zy Gon

Unfortunately it’s Klingon bollocks, which would seem to be a running theme in this BS fan production.

    • Adam

This show’s budget is like, Game of Thrones season 4. It’s an enormous budget. And the Netflix licensing deal paid for the entire budget before they even started filming.

  • Bjoernar Dohm

    Not available. Very frustrating.

  • October_1985

Maybe its not as cool as being nominated to an Oscar, but I like that Star Trek Beyond has been nominated for a GLAAD Media Awards on account of its fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of the LGBTQ community and the issues that affect their lives. That is what Star Trek is about:

    http://www.glaad.org/mediaawards/nominees

    • Eric Cheung

This time next year, maybe it’ll be Star Trek: Discovery that gets such an award!

    • Dendrobates!

It did get nominated for an Oscar as well though! I think for Makeup and Costume.

  • Love this trailer. Finally something incredible from CBS! 🙂 Can’t thank them enough. Everything looks soo exciting. 🙂 https://youtu.be/mhUSK47opc0

  • I love this trailer!!! Everything looks soo amazing! 🙂 I’m super hyped about this new series. 🙂 https://youtu.be/mhUSK47opc0 _\//

  • Locutus

The glimpse of the Starfleet uniform is very reminiscent of the away team field jackets worn in “The Cage.” It is interesting that the insignia on the uniform itself depicts the fractured delta shield. I guess that makes it unique from the original USS Enterprise delta shield and could explain why a crew that is not the Enterprise crew is sporting a similar (but slightly different) shield at a time when all starship insignias were supposedly different. Or to heck with unique insignias! I don’t really care, so long as it looks sharp, which it does.

    • Zy Gon

It’s very reminiscent of just the kind of crap which got Enterprise cancelled.

      • Locutus

What got Enterprise cancelled was not the uniforms or set designs. Multiple seasons of poor, repetitive story-telling got it cancelled. The show turned it around in Season 4, only to squander it with a poor series finale.

  • Chris Tyler

    Excellent!!!!

  • SpaceCadet

So I’m a U.S. citizen and a couple of weeks ago I tried applying for a Canadian work permit just so I’d have the opportunity to be an extra on the show and I was pretty quickly rejected. Lol. So sad! Makes we wish I already lived there. Oh well!

  • Nice video! It sounds as if it was written by someone who understood Star Trek; let’s hope that’s a sign…

    • Eric Cheung

At least someone who read Roddenberry’s memo, “Star Trek Is…”

      • And who understands that Star Trek is partly about what it means to be human!

    • Xandercom

If by that you mean a ripoff of a dull 1960’s tv series no one but hard core fans cares about, then you’re right.

  • Me

Looks like there may be another ship – the Attilio? Look at the HD caps – the bridge plans clearly have that name in the upper right AND next to the Discovery wall art, you can just barely make out …ilio int (which I’m assuming is the last part of “Attilio interior.” If so, the name might derive from a Punic War hero… or I’m making a warp core out of a plasma conduit. 😉

    • Eric Cheung

I figured that was maybe the designer’s name. We know there’s at least the Discovery, the Shenzhou, and probably at least one Klingon ship. Maybe there are more?

      • Michael

The U.S.S. Attilio is destroyed in the series premiere in a dramatic fashion.

        • The Science Fiction Oracle

You know, your questionable “inside info” is debatable, but at least it’s entertaining.

However, if your info is actually legit, then it’s completely asinine of you to reveal plot spoilers here on Trekcore. THAT IS NOT COOL !

I take exception to people spoiling the premiere here, and I would encourage the Trekcore moderators to step in here?

          • Michael

I thought you craved more details? You don’t believe me anyway, so calm down. But for fellow super fans, I am told directly from my source that the U.S.S Attilio quote ” surprised and destroyed in a brutal fashion by the ancient Klingon warriors of the sleeper ship ”

I will be providing more and more details regarding the show in greater quantity the closer we get to the show. They are literally filming as you read this.

It’s a very dynamic flow of info right now and I am being told only bits and pieces by my source as he/she is being careful what to reveal to me. I also know larger details and overall arcs but I was specifically told not to reveal the details.

          • The Science Fiction Oracle

If your supposed source is deliberately releasing story spoilers, knowing that you will then release them here publicly, then your friend is a complete a-hole. Fact!

Inside info on details sare one thing, but spoiling major story elements of the premiere for all of us fans her is unacceptable to the vast majority of us here.

ATTENTION TREKCORE MODERATORS — you really need to step in and be policing this!

          • Michael

Sounds like you are having faith in my source otherwise you would not be so worked up about it.

I never said it was a Klingon “dog” it is a pet Targ. Far different than a pet dog.

Friend is very highly respected and has worked on Star Trek for over 20 years,
being insulting towards him/her is shameful and inappropriate.

          • The Science Fiction Oracle

“Friend” has no business releasing actual plot and story spoilers to you, in violation of his confidentially employment provisions, and knowing that you will publish them publicly and spoil the story-lines for the premiere.

So no, it’s not insulting at all of me to label this person a-hole. The person doesn’t have honor or integrity. I am stating a fact — a fact with any ethics professor or jury would confirm.

          • Michael

Lol, people were pushing me for more details, I choose to do so and I get flamed. Can’t win, can’t lose.

My source has worked on Star Trek in various forms going back to DS9. He/she knows everything, but is only feeding me 10% of what he/she knows because we have been friends for longer than he/she has been working on Star Trek stuff.

Please also don’t forget that I was told to plant “fake” news as well along with the actual teasers/previews/story points to keep our fellow fans guessing so they don’t end up feeling like you regarding these releases.

          • The Science Fiction Oracle

Ah, so your source works at Brietbart. Good to know. LOL

          • Michael

            What’s brietbart?

          • DC Forever

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t highly respect people who violate agreements and live a lie?

          • Michael

You must have really hated President Obama then.

        • DC Forever

Thanks for just spoiling the opening episode for me.

Could you please have the courtesy to label your your future screenplay spoilers at the top of your posts, like:

          SPOILERS BELOW

  • sw gs

This video is disabled in Poland.

    • human8
    • Xandercom

Should be disabled worldwide. It’s balls.

      • Michael

Sort of like the movie you made bombed?

    • Michael

If Russia invades Poland they will be disabled there as well by Trump. :/)

  • Thomas W.

It looks like a re-creation of ENT. * yawn* Neelix’ cold noodle soup again…

  • Regarding the actor who is wearing the helmet.. didn’t ‘Michael’ who posts here say that the telepresence unit that the Romulans forced an Andorian to use in ‘Enterprise’ might feature in this new series? Perhaps the helmet that actor is wearing in the video is a version of that device.

That device did require the wearer to have some telepathic abilities though, so perhaps the character in the photo also has telepathic abilities.

Just a thought, based on the rumour/insider knowledge that Michael suggested.

    • Eric Cheung

My guess is that it’s part of special effects process.

Of course, it reminds me of this: https://filmfork-cdn.s3.amazonaws.com/content/Videodrome%20-%207.jpg

    • Michael

      Aenar are in the show.

      • The Science Fiction Oracle

Anyone can deduce that as likely from the Alien make-up test photos from last year. You’ll have to do better than this and Klingon dog “guesses” (an obvious guess giving we know Klingons will be featured heavily in the show)

You keep missing predictions for each major production team update from the past couple of months. For once, I want to see you predict something a couple of weeks advance that will be then released publicly….a very simple test to see if you really have this source.

It’s not too much to ask. I simply want to see a short term validation of your source’s information.

        • Michael

I have given the community here ample details in the past. Perhaps you have forgotten the major plot points I was told by my source to share? I can only share what I am told by the source. My source enjoys the work my source does and is only doing this for me as a favor being a long term super fan. I asked if I could share things here and only here as a special treat for the fans.

I was told in specific to not share the recent reveal. I listen to my friend and source as I don’t want to risk the work he/she does. I know this disturbs some but again I won’t risk his/her position and betray a nearly 30 year friendship just to “prove” to someone random online that I am being truthful.

When the show airs people will realize the things I have been saying were real and straight from the source.

Believe me or not, it does not bother me. But I will continue to share the details from my source.

          • The Science Fiction Oracle

“When the show airs people will realize the things I have been saying were real and straight from the source.”

That’s because most of things you shared can be deduced, or educated guesses can be made, such that you will probably be proven about 75% right once the show airs…and of course you will then have minor excuses for the 25% that don’t pan out, I am sure.

Just give us one short term minor item that can prove the source is valid in the short term. Come on, it’s getting kind of embarrassing for you that you keep missing the target in failing to predict all of these things that have been released by the studio over the past month.

          • Michael

I am not embarrassed at all. Again, I was told not to talk about the recent release.

No one else has been saying anything at the detail level I have provided and that is for a reason. My source is rock solid and has been involved with Star Trek for over 20 years in various capacities.

You seem fixated on me which is very odd, and a tad disturbing. If you think I am lying just pass on the stuff I write and read other stuff. It’s not a huge deal you make it out to be brother.

          • The Science Fiction Oracle

Again, just give us one short term minor item that can prove the source is valid in the short term. A minor request, for sure. Easily fulfilled by somebody who truly has an inside source as you claim.

          • Michael

I only revealed possible plot points, not the entire episode. The rule is 4 “fake” news items for each REAL one, to keep fans guessing. The point is to read the leaked info he/she gives me and wait for the next official release and then realize which one was the right one. This way no one can claim I am “spoiling” anything, yet fellow fans can still get clues to the show they can contemplate.

          • The Science Fiction Oracle

LOL, so you now even have a built in excuse when some of your predictions don’t pan out when we see the show: “Oh, that was my fake news from my source.”

If you are trolling, I’ll give you this — you are an exceptional troll!

          • Michael

I am doing what my source tells me to do, no more, no less.

          • The Science Fiction Oracle

            Of course your are. LOL

  • Harry Kane

I like the uniforms which hint at late ENTVery early TOS look, and looks much better than what is done in JJ trek. The ship and design needs work! High Quality CGI, Ship looks to advanced for the moment, must look like an early tos ship. aka NX Refit look but a 50/50 balance of late ENT and early TOS. This could be achieved by making the nacelles circular in shape and limiting them to single. also not making the ship look too techie either. Everyone understands that it has to be more than what we saw on TOS in order to attract, but it can’t look like its from the 25th Century

  • Harry Kane

Also making sure the set design isn’t too advanced either. It cannot look a 50/50 ENTTOS cannot look like the JJ look. It also must not be a TMP look with those iconic chairs and bridge design

  • Harry Kane

The new captains chair that they should does achieve this balance so I hope, I hope that they have got the look right otherwise it just screws everything else up.

  • Vger64

I am going to love this!!!!

  • iamawild

Just hearing the sound of that transporter…..I got goosebumps…..

  • Zarm

Errmm… uniforms and ship designs are looking a lot more Enterprise than TOS. That… sends a very bad message for me. 🙂 Hopefully in the long-view, we’ll get a little more fidelity to the Trek period they’ve chosen for themselves.

  • Michael

Another small reveal from my source, there will be a “pet” Targ on the show.

    • Tom

Can you reveal any arcs on potential guest appearances?

      • Michael

Last I heard Shatner was approached but it went nowhere. ( money demands )
        I will inquire about others.

        • Tom

That is terrible. They gave up on Shatner?

          • Michael

I am told that William was asking for compensation far beyond what they were expecting for a guest appearance. 🙁

          • Tom

so this is definitely not happening?? How bad could it have been ? seems like they will have a substantial budget

          • Michael

            William has a substantial ego.

          • Tom

All you have said so far about Discovery has been so promising. However not being able to close the deal on the Shat is one huge downer. That would be amazing to have him guest. With all the other stuff he does they get the deals done, this is disheartening to hear

          • The Science Fiction Oracle

You need to stop blaming the production team. It’s Shatner’s fault.

          • Tom

At least you believe Michael on that.

          • Michael

Shatner was asking for absurd sums of money and extraordinary concessions which they felt was him trying to take advantage of them. He would not budge on his demands so they stopped trying.

          • Tom

That is so sad. What is worse is that when Discovery premieres and Shatner gets interviewed and asked about an appearance he will say he would love to blah blah blah. How much did he ask for to appear on that Canadian TV show? Usually an agent can get his client within the ballpark of what the compensation should be. Shatner never learns

          • Michael

The problem is whenever Star Trek is involved, William thinks differently compared to negotiating other roles for other projects. It’s sad to say, but the same egomaniac that ran amok on the set in the original show comes out.

          • Tom

I’m sure they offered him reasonable amount of $$. Stupid of him to leave that on the table compared to what he gets for the other roles

          • Tom

I just read that he is doing a voiceover for My Little Pony. Unreal

          • Tom

They must have had some stories in mind on how to bring him back. Did you get any info on that? Guess they had to shelve it until he ever comes back to reality.

          • Michael

All the Shatner stuff was at the top levels, above my source. Source knows nothing about those possible plots, only knows about the broken talks due to William’s insane salary “requests”

          • Tom

So as far you know this is dead an will not happen. No chance of going back to the negotiations?

          • Tom

Well Michael I hope this a fake item and the real item is they get Bill to sign on the dotted line

        • Tom

          Michael
Could they still be negotiating with Shatner?

  • Zy Gon

Ugh. This is just TOS fanwank from start to finish. Can’t have any original thoughts? Just mash up the work of others, like a bad DJ who can’t mix between tracks for toffee.

Typical of prequel/reboot/sequels. Must parody and mash up what’s already been imagined by other people as much as possible. It will get the legacy fans hyped up, but has zero to offer to anyone else.
There’s nothing innovative or new about this, and there’s nothing that will hold the slightest bit of appeal to people under 50. Big fat 50 yearolds who have been waiting for this prequel since they were kids.

Get real. This is not only going to crash and burn, but it will also put a stop to a decent series being made for another 10 years. Thanks.
    Fools.

    • Michael

I know enough to tell you that this show has the potential to be the best Star Trek of them all. I think it will have that subtle “tension” that Star Trek The Undiscovered Country has.

  • DC Forever

This is looking so very promising now. My earlier skepticism is rapidly dissolving away.

    • Michael

I think we will all be happy.
